DB2 Everyplace Database Release 8.1: Architecture and Key Features

چکیده

This paper is concerned with the design, architecture, and implementation of DB2 Everyplace Release 8.1. DB2 Everyplace is a small-sized SQL database software – the footprint is about 200 kB – available for PDAs and embedded systems. We discuss the database engine components in detail, and explain how they collaborate for query execution. Further, we deal with data encryption and allude remote stored-procedure calls, both of which are novel features introduced in Release 8.1.
